Private Clients
Personalised counselling and advice to our private clients is a significant part of our expertise and business. It is very easy to view a given situation in isolation and therefore miss the real issues facing clients; in other words - the bigger picture.
Our services include the bigger picture expertise if our client needs it, and it is listening to our clients and hearing what they are saying that is a major diffentiator between Warner Pride and others.
You will notice there are headings above from Tier 1 to Tier 5, these Tiers cover all of the legal methods of entry to the UK and remaining in the UK. In order to assist you in choosing the correct Tier you will see below a synopsis of each Tier. Once you have found the Tier that meets your particular application type please click on the Tier text, which will take you direct to where you need to go. Tiers Synopsis
Tier 1 - Highly Skilled
Tier 1 of the UK’s points-based system covers applications to enter or remain in the UK as highly skilled migrants, employed or self-employed.
These sub-categories are as follows:
- Tier 1 (General)
- Tier 1 (Entrepreneurs)
- Tier 1 (Investors)
- Tier 1 (Post Study Work)
The objective of Tier 1 is to boost the UK’s economy by attracting and retaining the “brightest and best” as workers or businesspeople who will increase the UK’s skills and knowledge base.
Tier 2 - (general) skilled worker
This sub-category is for skilled workers with a job offer to come in to fill gaps in the United Kingdom labour force that cannot be filled by the resident workforce.
The job must be at S/NVQ level 3 or above, and the migrant must earn the appropriate salary or other package of remuneration appropriate for the job in the United Kingdom.
There are four other sub-categories:
Tier 2 - Ministers of Religion
Tier 2 - Sports People
Tier 2 - Intra-company Transfer
Tier 2 - Shortage Occupations
Details of these sub-categories can be found under the Tier 2 main heading at the top of the page
Tier 3 - Low skilled Jobs
This category is for low skilled jobs, which might from time to time be needed in the UK because of the shortage of man power.
We will update this section if the UK Border Agency provides any further details about Tier 3 opportunities.
The Tier 3 route is currently suspended.
Tier 4 - Students
This category is dedicated to students. In order for a student to study in the United Kingdom they must take up a course that is given by an approved education provider, who is known as the sponsor.
Sponsorship
The sponsor in the United Kingdom must have a licence in order to recruit international students. To get a licence, a sponsor will need to show that:
- they have been inspected, audited or reviewed by Ofsted or its devolved equivalents, the Independent Schools Inspectorate or the Quality Assurance Agency; or
- they hold valid accreditation from an accreditation body that has been approved by the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA)
The courses that the sponsor runs for adult international students will also need to lead to a qualification approved by UKBA, and any courses provided for children will need to be taught in line with the National Curriculum (NC), the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) or approved by Ofsted. NQF and Ofted are a the British governments organisations who ensure the quality of education in the UK is amongst the best in the world.
Tier 4 has two categories:
- general - for those coming for their post-16 education; and
- child - for children between the ages of 4 and 16 to come to an independent school.
Certificates of acceptance for studies
Under Tier 4, in order to get a visa to come to the United Kingdom or continue their studies in the United Kingdom, the student will have to have a certificate of acceptance for studies issued by the sponsor, and pass a points-based assessment.
Students will need permission to go to the United Kingdom (known as 'entry clearance') before entering the United Kingdom, or they will need permission to remain in the United Kingdom (known as ‘further leave to remain’), if they are already in the UK and extending their student visa.
Tier 5 - Youth Mobility
The Youth Mobility Scheme allows young people to live in the United Kingdom for up to two years to experience the wonderful delights the UK has to offer. Young United Kingdom nationals will also be able to benefit from similar opportunities in participating countries.
At present only following countries are in the scheme:
- Australia
- Canada
- Japan, and
- New Zealand
Other Visa
Not all visa types is covered by the Tier system and we have a designated section for other visa types. These visas include all eleven visit visa routes which include business visas.
